Dr. Alexander Movshovich is a graduate of the prestigious Second Moscow Medical Institute. He completed his internship in internal medicine at New York Downtown Hospital. Dr. Alexander Movshovich completed his residency in ophthalmology and retinal fellowship at Cornell University Medical College.
In 1981, he was the recipient of the Laureate of the Young Moscow Scientists Association Award. This award is given for the best research project for scientists under 35 years of age. He was also the recipient of the prestigious Komsomol prize, the highest prize given in Russia for the best scientific research work in 1983.
Dr. Alexander Movshovich has been published in Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences and The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
Dr. Alexander Movshovich is an Associate Professor at Cornell’s Weil School of Medicine and is amongst a few physicians specializing in the most complicated cataract surgeries, including cases with pseudoexfoliation, secondary intraocular lens implantation, etc. Routinely, other surgeons refer their difficult cases for his expertise.
Dr. Alexander Movshovich is the only Russian fluent speaking retinal specialist in NJ.
